Keeping Active at Home During the Winter, Tom McAleese

Don't let the cold stop you from working out!

Do you love to run or walk outside in the summer, but wonder what you can do in the winter to keep yourself active without going to the gym?

A great indoor exercise is good old-fashioned calisthenics

Try doing burpees or jumping jacks – you don’t need any equipment except yourself and some space. Both exercises are great for burning calories, building explosive muscle, increasing cardio capacity and relieving boredom!

Burpees are a great full body exercise – chest, legs, core, shoulders, and arms.

Jumping jacks are great for building and shaping the calves, legs, core, and shoulders.

Try setting a timer for 10 minutes and see how many burpees (or jumping jacks) you can perform in that time. Each day, try to increase the number performed. In no time at all, you will see a slimmer, more muscular you!
